The true answer to this is nuanced, because you are. What we typically see is an initial intense and deep healing phase lasting anywhere between 6 months to 12 months. Yes, this sounds long. But we are giving you the truth. After this initial 6-12 month period, most people find themselves in a place of 'nervous system optimization' versus nervous system healing. This phase lasts the rest of your life and is incredibly enjoyable. 

Psychotherapy is primarily a talk-based therapy method that leverages CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy) and other mind-based methods. Nervous system and somatics coaching is a body-focused practice that enables you to truly release pent up survival energy from the body and FEEL different. Sessions with Dana are a combination of talking, body work, and energetic work. 

The answer is that it's a combination of us properly communicating the purpose of each program and who it will be ideal for, your budget, the amount of time you're able to commit, and (most importantly) you feeling like it's the correct choice for you. Before you register for any program, you are welcome to submit questions or reach out to Dana on Instagram. Dana will always have a discovery call with someone if they are interested in private coaching, and she requires individuals to take at least 24 hours to think it over before making a commitment. This is part of how we run a trauma-informed business.
