But let me tell you something⌠a few years ago, this was not what my life looked like. I was anxious, depressed, lonely, and suffering from chronic illnesses like IBS and chronic cystic acne. I worked in a job I hated, and I didnât have any real friends. I didnât even have someone I could call if I needed a ride to the airport. I tried therapy, meditation, breathwork and medications, but nothing seemed to help. In fact, things kept getting worse. Every year I was more lonely, more depressed, more anxious. My digestion was getting worse and my acne just wouldnât go away. It wasnât until I discovered shame that I began to understand the true cause of my suffering. Itâs not an exaggeration when I tell you that detoxifying from shame changed my life! And it can change your life too!
The REAL Truth About Shame
If youâre someone who needs to de-couple from shame, youâre probably doing things that are self-defeating, like spending time with people who bring you down or make fun of you. You have low energy, feel depressed or anxious, and have trouble getting motivated, even for things you really want. Hi! Iâm Dana Doswell, and I am living proof that you can heal anxiety, depression, chronic illness, and so much more by decoupling from shame.Â
For most of my life, I was controlled by my shame. I studied accounting and finance, and eventually ended up in tech sales, all because my shame was telling me I needed people to see me as wealthy, successful, and capable.
